We’ve got three more very cool Team Summer gifts to tell you about, but first, a quick update on the Edison E-Bike Giveaway. We’re getting closer! So far, we have raised $33,000 toward our $40,000 goal. With five days and $7,000 left to go, we really need your help to get us across the finish line.
For every $50 you donate during September — Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, you get one chance to win an Edison E-bike. Donate $100 and you get two chances. Donate $1,000 and you get 20 chances!! Every donation helps our Team Summer kids bring unforgettable surprises to other children facing cancer.
Thanks to your support, our Team Summer kids have been delivering some pretty incredible gifts! Here are just a few of the special moments you have helped make possible.
Connor, age 8 — New Hampshire
Connor was just 20 months old when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After experiencing significant developmental delays, he began a long medical journey that has included multiple rounds of chemotherapy, surgeries and proton radiation. Earlier this year, Connor had to restart treatment after new tumors developed.
After spending so much of his young life undergoing treatment, Connor was due for some serious fun! When we found out he was a huge Lamborghini fan, Team Summer kid Camryn had the perfect surprise in mind: his very own ride-on Lamborghini!
Less than an hour after we got off the Zoom call, Connor was already zooming around the yard on his brand-new ride! The car was a big hit, Camryn! Great job!
Journei, age 14 — Georgia
For more than a year, Journei had been experiencing all kinds of troubling symptoms, including leg pains, night sweats, and extreme fatigue. Doctors initially attributed her symptoms to viral infections. Then, one week after her 13th birthday, Journei started having chest pains, so her mom took her to the ER. There, the doctors finally found the cause of all of it: Journei had lymphoma and bone cancer.
That was the beginning of Journei’s difficult medical journey — which has included multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and countless medications. Cancer also forced Journei to miss her entire eighth-grade year, keeping her away from friends and many of the everyday experiences that come with being a teenager.
Team Summer kid Kaleb remembered that feeling of isolation all too well as he battled a sarcoma and leukemia for years. He wanted to give Journei something that would help her stay connected and remind her that she was not alone. When we learned that Journei dreamed of becoming a social media influencer, the perfect gift became clear!
Kaleb surprised Journei with a brand-new iPad in her favorite color, yellow — with her name engraved on it!
Now Journei has a way to stay close to her friends while exploring her creativity and pursuing her dream of making a difference in this world! Good choice, Kaleb!
Santino, age 6 — Rhode Island
In July of 2025, when Santino was just four years old, he began complaining of stomach pain. At first, his mom thought he had caught the same stomach bug as the rest of the family. But when the pain persisted, she felt around his stomach and was shocked to find a hard mass. She took him to his pediatrician, who immediately sent him by ambulance to the hospital. There, Santino was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare cancer of the nerves. Since then, he’s been through so much — surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy and a stem cell transplant.
In between all those difficult treatments, one thing that made Santino happy was to play on his older cousin’s PlayStation 5. And he had been begging his mom for one of his own.
So when it came time to choose his surprise gift, it was a no-brainer for Team Summer kid Haylee! She got Santino a brand-new PS5 of his very own! Endless hours of fun and distraction — exactly what he needs. Perfect, Haylee!
This gift also marked an exciting milestone for Team Summer! Santino lives in Rhode Island, officially making it the 40th state reached by Team Summer’s Chain of Giving! The success of our Edison E-Bike Giveaway is so very important to Team Summer’s mission.
