We have fantastic news! We reached our Team Summer Challenge Team Goal of $30,000! And then some!!! Just in the nick of time, as the Challenge ends today. We are so proud of everyone who participated and grateful for everyone who donated! We can’t thank you enough for your help in funding this important mission!

The money raised goes directly towards the gifts that Team Summer kids give to other kids with cancer. Recently, we were so overwhelmed by nominations that we had to put kids on a waiting list. That was such a painful decision to make. But the funds raised in this campaign gets every kid off the waiting list! YAY!!

It’s pure magic watching these kids with cancer reach out to each other. And it all started with the big heart of Summer Dale, our founder. Once a kid gets a Team Summer gift, it’s their turn give one, and then the giving keeps going! It’s amazing to look all the way back and see how one chain of giving has unfolded over the last decade, jumping from state to state. As with everything, it started with Summer:

Summer gave a gift to Lacey!

Lacey gave a gift to Hunter!

Hunter (with the help of Team Summer kid Antonio) gave a gift to Nicholas!

Nicholas gave a gift to Robert the Great (his nickname)!

Robert the Great gave to a gift to Peyton!

Peyton gave a gift to Briley!

Briley gave a gift to Landon!

Up to this point, all the giving was in Georgia. But Landon had a friend in the Midwest who was struggling with cancer. He made Team Summer history by taking us all the way to Kansas (via Zoom!) to give a gift to Maren!

Maren gave a gift to Brooklyn, also in Kansas!

Next things jumped to Texas when Brooklyn gave a gift Adeline! (Their moms met on Facebook.)

And then, this chain took off in Texas! Adeline gave a gift to Brixton!

Brixton gave a gift to Grayson!

Grayson gave a gift to Kaneko!

And this chain is still growing! We are working on three other nominations from both Grayson and Kaneko!

It all started with one 16-year-old girl struggling with cancer and wanting to make things better for other kids in her situation. This chain shows how the actions of one person can make such a big difference in this world. And these are just 14 of the hundreds of kids Team Summer has helped in 23 states! We know that, in spirit, Summer is rooting us on as we continue to work towards our goal of touching the lives of kids in all 50 states!
